Disney has always been known for its extraordinary attractions, each filled with rich stories and unforgettable characters. One of the newest additions to this magical lineup is Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is a captivating blend of story, music, and advanced technology. Here’s everything you need to know about this exciting new attraction!

All About Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. This is a reimagining of Splash Mountain. Disney has a “Keep Moving Forward” mantra and this new ride will captivate a whole new generation of children, many of whom did not know the story of Splash Mountain but do know The Princess and the Frog.
The ride takes you on a journey through the bayou, culminating in a grand party at Tiana and Naveen’s home. Along the way, guests will meet various critters, enjoy New Orleans-inspired music, and experience the magic of Tiana’s world.
One of the standout features of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is its incredible use of Audio-Animatronics figures. Disney’s Imagineers have truly outdone themselves with dozens of these lifelike characters, each created with careful consideration of their roles in the attraction’s story. The figures are a testament to how technology can enhance storytelling, bringing to life the vibrant world of New Orleans and its many colorful inhabitants.

Music is a crucial element of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, and it promises to have guests tapping their toes throughout the ride. As guests approach the grand party at Tiana and Naveen’s home, they are greeted by Louis the alligator conducting a jazz band filled with the critters they’ve met along the way. This band plays an all-new, original song titled “Special Spice,” with vocals by Anika Noni Rose, the original voice of Princess Tiana. You will have this catchy tune in your head for the rest of the day!
To bring the music to life, Imagineers collaborated with award-winning artists PJ Morton and Terence Blanchard. The result is a musical experience that captures the essence of New Orleans, emphasizing the city’s rich cultural heritage and the power of its music.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure immerses guests in the diverse musical traditions of New Orleans. From Zydeco to Rara to Afro-Cuban jazz, the attraction features a variety of musical styles performed by the critters. This diversity mirrors the real-life musical tapestry of the Crescent City, offering guests an authentic taste of New Orleans’ vibrant soundscape.
What to Expect Thrill Wise: Throughout the 11-minute ride, you will encounter 3 lifts and 5 drops, most of them are mild except for the last big 5 story drop. The 45-degree drop takes your breath away but the view right before the drop is amazing!

Tiana’s New Bayou Friends
The attraction is filled with critters of all sizes, including some really big ones with even bigger personalities. These characters enhance the storytelling and create memorable moments for guests as they journey through the bayou. I love how Disney gave them backstories to enrich the experience even more.
Felipe the Frog
Deep among the cypress trees, you will encounter Felipe, the band leader who works his musical magic on the piano. Felipe also owns an exclusive bayou nightclub where local fireflies dance the night away to his hot rhythms and spicy melodies. He’s an old-school family guy, especially to his “family” in the band.
Mayra the Frog
Guests will be amazed to see Mayra playing a flower blossom like a trumpet. This ambitious frog has been practicing her instrument since she was a tadpole, and her toe-tapping solos are a must-see.
Mondo the Frog
Mondo, a natural on the conga drums, started his musical journey when his favorite bottle cap got stuck on his second-favorite acorn. From that moment, the rhythm in his soul took over. Mondo’s easy-going nature is as steady and reliable as his drumbeat.

Isabel the Green Tree Frog
Following Mondo’s example, Isabel loves getting lost in the music as she plays her congas. The youngest member of the group, Isabel’s passion for music is infectious, and she enjoys nothing more than playing drums all night long.

Gloria and Delores (Frogs)
They are best friends who love to observe folks as they float in logs down the bayou. Guests shouldn’t be surprised if they keep their watchful eyes on them as they float by.
Lari the Armadillo
Known for his mischievous nature, Lari has a habit of “borrowing” things that aren’t his, only to return them later. His quiet demeanor and unexpected appearances add a layer of fun and surprise to the adventure.

Tiana’s Adventure Tips
Avoid the Long Standby Line. Purchase the Lightning Lane Multi Pass and make this your priority Tier 1 selection. As for now, the ride is very popular.
A traditional standby queue is not yet in place but you can join the standby line via a virtual queue. There are 2 daily opportunities to request to join the virtual queue for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure:
- 7:00 AM (Guests do not need to be in Magic Kingdom park to join the virtual queue at this time)
- 1:00 PM (Guests must be in Magic Kingdom park to join the virtual queue at this time)
Prepare To Get Wet. At some point when you and your family drop on in to Tiana’s party, there’s a strong chance you may get wet. Here are some ideas to make the process less bothersome.

- Ponchos. Yes, I have seen lots of people wear ponchos. Honestly, I am not one of those people. I wanna get wet in the hot Florida heat.
- Ziploc Baggies. If your phone or camera is not waterproof, then I would bring along a couple of Ziploc bags to put your phone in. You could also bring an extra shirt, shorts, and or socks to change into and store them in a Ziploc bag.
- Have Someone Hold Your Bags. If you have someone who is not riding this ride then have them hold your bags so you don’t have to worry about them getting wet.
- Wear Sandals. Wear Tevas or some other type of waterproof sandal, and change back to regular shoes after the ride.
- Just Let It Go. Enjoy getting wet and then stand in the sun for a few minutes and dry off.
Smile for the Camera. No party is complete without pictures. As you make your way through the bayou to get to Tiana’s party, Disney PhotoPass Service will serve up a special photo when they’re almost there.
Introduce Your Kids to Princess Tiana. If your kids have not already watched Princess and the Frog, have a family movie night! Here is my list of all suggested Movies to Watch Before your Walt Disney World Vacation.

Pick Your Seat. You can politely ask a Cast Member for a specific seat and more than likely they will grant your request. If you ride in the front seat, you almost certainly will get wet. Riders elsewhere get splashed but are usually not doused.
Prep Your Kids for the Ride. Some kids, and adults (ok, me) kind of freak out seeing the big drop. Watch a ride through POV video to help prepare them for how the ride is.
Whether you’re a fan of Princess Tiana or just love a good Disney ride, this adventure is one you won’t want to miss. See you down in the bayou!
