Virgin Voyages Packing List

Virgin Voyages is one of the most plus-size accommodating cruise lines so it is one of my favorites. With so many great itineraries and onboard activities there is always something fun to do! Virgin Voyages is a totally different cruise experience since it is just for adults and there are some things to pack that you might not think of if you have never taken a Virgin cruise before. Here is my Virgin Voyages packing list, I have even included a free printable.

Packing smartly is essential for ensuring a smooth and enjoyable cruise experience. By bringing the right items, you can avoid unnecessary stress and fully embrace the unique atmosphere and activities on board. Smart packing means you’ll have everything you need without overpacking, leaving you with more space in your cabin and less to carry around. Thoughtful packing allows you to effortlessly transition from daytime adventures to evening events, ensuring you’re always appropriately dressed and comfortable.

Virgin Voyages Packing List

First, let go over the essentials.

Documents and Essentials for a Virgin Voyages Cruise

  • Passport and ID
  • Cruise tickets and reservation documents
  • Travel insurance information
  • Credit cards and cash
  • Emergency contact information

Clothing and Accessories To Pack

Virgin Cruise line does not have very much of a dress code and pretty much anything goes. What I loved best about my cruise is that I wore my 2 piece as a plus-size gal and no one gave me bad looks. I felt free to dress as I saw fit.

Daytime Outfits

  • Comfortable and breathable clothing for exploring the ship and shore excursions. If you wear a lot of skirts and dresses like do, I suggest shorts underneath to prevent chub rub.
  • Swimsuits and cover-ups for poolside lounging.
  • Casual outfits for daytime activities and dining.

Evening Wear

  • Stylish outfits for dining and evening entertainment.
  • An outfit for Red Night (e.g., red dress, red shirt and trousers, or themed accessories).
  • Pajamas for Pajama Night (e.g., fun or themed pajamas).

Specialty Items

  • Gym clothes and activewear for the fitness center.
  • Layers and jackets for cooler evenings or air-conditioned areas.

Footwear & Accessories

  • Comfortable walking shoes for excursions.
  • Sandals or flip-flops for the pool deck. Please note that the pool deck is VERY slippery. I actually fell and broke a rib when I was getting out of the pool. I was barefoot. From now on I will be wearing water shoes when on cruise pool decks.
  • Dress shoes for evening wear.
  • Sun hat and sunglasses for sun protection.
  • Tote bag or daypack for shore excursions.
  • Evening bag or clutch for nights out.

Toiletries and Personal Care to Pack

  • Travel-sized toiletries: shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion. Only bring these if you prefer a specific brand. The showers have shampoo, conditioner, and body wash that was quite nice.
  • Skincare essentials: sunscreen, moisturizer, face wash.
  • Makeup and beauty products.
  • Hair care items: brush, hair ties, styling tools.
  • Basic first aid kit: band-aids, pain relievers, seasickness remedies.

Tech and Gadgets to Pack

  • Smartphone and charger.
  • Camera or GoPro for capturing memories.
  • Portable charger or power bank.
  • E-reader or tablet for reading and entertainment.
  • Headphones or earbuds.

Cruise Packing Tips

  • Use packing cubes to organize your luggage.
  • Roll clothes to save space and minimize wrinkles.
  • Pack versatile pieces that can be mixed and matched. Opt for clothing items that can be easily mixed and matched to create multiple outfits from a few key pieces. Neutral colors and classic styles are great for this, as they can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. Versatile pieces like a simple dress, a pair of shorts, and a few different tops can go a long way, reducing the amount of clothing you need to pack. For some reason, I never unpack during a hotel stay but I do for a cruise.
  • Consider the ship’s laundry services for longer cruises. Virgin Voyages does not have a self-serve laundry room but they do offer a full-service laundry service where they can do everything for you. You get a very large bag and the cost is $30 at the time of this post. Leave it for your steward in the morning, and you’ll have it the next afternoon. If you have Deep Blue Extras from a status match, you get one free bag, and a free item or two of dry cleaning/pressing.
