Rapunzel’s Royal Table Dining Review

Rapunzel’s Royal Table was my first dining experience aboard the Disney Magic. I was kind of glad this was my first meal and not my last. My last meal was Animator’s Palette which I absolutely adored. While Rapunzel’s meal was nice, I was far away from the stage so I didn’t enjoy the show as much as I would have liked.

While I was too far away from the stage to enjoy the show, I did love the ending of the dinner when the lanterns “floated” all around the dining room. That was such a magical moment that made the ok food worth it for this meal. I think if the stage would have been more centered rather than in the front of the room, I would have enjoyed the show more.

The dining room is gorgeous, the Imagineers did a fantastic job of making it feel like you were inside of Corona. One thing I would like to mention for my plus-size royal friends is that the dining room has comfortable chairs with no armrests.

Rapunzel’s Royal Table Food

The bread service is soft pretzels with whole-grain mustard dip and regular bread rolls with butter. I thought the pretzels were a bit dry but ok.

For my appetizer, I chose the Snuggly Ducking Platter which was a charcuterie board. This was absolutely divine and I would say the best part of the meal. Though I didn’t you can ask for seconds for any plate you receive.

For my main course, I sampled 2 different plates. One was the Tangled Pasta. The dish is angel hair pasta tossed in a basil-pesto sauce with carmelized sea scallops, roasted vine tomatoes, and a sun-dried tomato tapenade served with roasted Meyer lemon. The sea scallops were amazing and the best part of the dish. I thought the pasta was a bit and the pesto lacked flavor.

My second plate was the Flynn Rider platter. The Flynn Rider platter is smoked pork loin served with roasted smoked pork belly, bockwurst, braised red cabbage, fried potato dumpling, and a Spatburgunder Wine Jus. The smoked pork belly was so good, it just melted in my mouth.

For dessert, I had the Creme Brulee Cheesecake. It was so good and I wish I would have ordered a second.

Rapunzel’s Royal Table Dining Tips

Be Adventurous. This meal is part of the included dining that you pay for. Try everything you want to try. I had never had sea scallops before and I am so glad I tried them on the cruise because now I love them.

Get to Know Your Server. If this is your first rotational dining experience then get to know your server. Become friends with them. Make sure to let them know your preferences when it comes to things you like and dislike. They are part of the entertainment and it makes the experience so much more enjoyable.

Ask to Be Seated Closer to the Stage. Since I didn’t have any kids with me I decided it was not all that important for me to be near the stage. If you have littles that love Rapunzel, arrive early and ask if your table can be switched to be closer. It is not guaranteed but they will try to accommodate.

Overall, Rapunzel’s Royal Table was not my favorite dining experience on the Disney Magic but I wouldn’t skip it. If you have had this meal, how was your experience? Leave me a comment below.
