  • 3-5 TBSP heavy whipping cream
  • Red, Orange, Golden Yellow, and black gel food coloring 
  • 1 disposable piping bag with a star tip

How to Make Disney Incredibles-Inspired Cupcakes

Step 1 – Preparing the Cupcake Batter
To begin, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line your cupcake pan with the white cupcake liners.

Step 2 – Mix the Batter
In a medium bowl, combine the vanilla cake mix, eggs, softened butter, milk, and pure vanilla extract. Stir the ingredients together until they are well combined and form a smooth batter.

Step 3 – Adding the Colors
Divide the batter equally into four separate bowls. In each bowl, add a different gel food coloring to create vibrant colors inspired by The Incredibles. Use red, black, and golden yellow food coloring for three of the bowls, while keeping the fourth bowl of batter white.

Step 4 – Layering the Colors

Instructions

To Make the Cupcakes

  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Line cupcake pan with the white cupcake liners
  3. In a medium bowl, add the cake mix, butter, milk, and vanilla extract and stir until combined
  4. Divide the batter into 4 bowls and add a food color gel into each bowl.
  5. Add the Red to one bowl
  6. Add the Black food coloring to the second bowl.
  7. Add the Golden Yellow food coloring into the third bowl.
  8. Leave the fourth bowl white.
  9. Begin to fill the cupcake liners by scooping about 1 tbsp of each colored batter into the cupcake liners.
  10. Continue to rotate colors until it is 3/4 of the way full.
  11. Bake in the oven for about 21 minutes.
  12. Pull out the cupcakes and allow to cool before frosting.

To Make the Frosting

  1. Using a stand mixer, combine all ingredients and mix on medium speed.
  2. Mix until you see stiffed peaks in your frosting.
  3. Once the frosting is made, split it into three bowls
  4. Add about 2-4 drops of each color, Red in one bowl, Golden Yellow in the second bowl, and Black in the third bowl
  5. Place the piping bag into a large glass and fold the sides of the bag over.
  6. Scoop one spoonful of the red frosting onto one side of piping bag.
  7. Now scoop one spoonful of the golden yellow frosting onto another side of the piping bag
  8. Scoop one spoonful of the black frosting onto the last side of the piping bag and squeeze the icing together.
  9. Frost the cooled cupcakes.
  10. Carefully place the incredibles icing transfer onto the frosting.
