Brother Bear is one of my favorite Disney movies. It doesn’t get talked about much because it is not super popular. The story is very good and I love the soundtrack.
Brother Bear Fun Facts
Where was Brother Bear Produced at?
The third and final film to be fully produced at Disney’s Orlando, Florida animation facility at the Walt Disney World Disney-MGM Theme Park (after Mulan (1998) and Lilo & Stitch(2002)). This studio was shut down in March 2004 in favor of computer-animated features.
The Country Bears may have been at the Salmon Run?
Several of the bears in the salmon run strongly resemble The Country Bears from the movie.
Would You Watch a Rutt and Tuke spin-off?
Rutt and Tuke are two friendly moose who always seem to bicker amongst themselves. An idea to do an animated television series spin-off for the Rutt and Tuke characters was eventually scrapped by Disney.
Don’t Worry No Animals were Hurt During the Filming.
There is a post-credits scene, parodying a disclaimer assuring that no fish were actually hurt during the making of the film, one of the salmon can be heard speaking while fleeing a bear.
Can You Find Nemo?
Finding Nemo came out the same year so there is a Finding Nemo Easter Egg. It is in the first 5 minutes and occurs when the mammoth hits the fishing cloth.
Other Fun Facts:
- The cliff where Kenai kills Koda’s mother then changes into a bear is shaped like a bear’s head.
- One difference between the two moose between the English and German versions of the film was that they were renamed Benny and Björn in the latter, after the two male members of ABBA, the famous Swedish pop group.
- A sequel, Brother Bear 2, was released in 2006.

It's been years since we've seen this movie - I should watch it again for a refresher. We met the bears over in Camp Minnie-Mickey in 2009. :)
