Soarin’ Around the World at Epcot Itinerary & Tips

Have you ever parasailed across the world? Now you can at Epcot! You no longer are just soarin’ over California. You are soarin’ over the world. Soarin’ Around the World is definitely an Epcot must-do! It was amazing and worth the wait. Wondering where you soar over? Here is the Soarin’ Around the World Itinerary and my top tips for getting to ride it without a long wait.

Soarin’ Around the World: Destinations

I had not done any research on the ride prior to riding it. So after takeoff, I was a little lost on a couple of the destinations that we soared over and decided to write this post. Here are the places you will see.

Matterhorn, Switzerland. Here are 10 Things about the Matterhorn that you might now know.

Ice Fjords, Greenland. Fjords are inlets carved out by slow-moving glaciers.

Sydney Harbour, Austrailia. Here is a coloring page for the kids from studyvillage.com.

Neuschwanstein Castle, Germany. Seven weeks after the death of King Ludwig II in 1886, Neuschwanstein was opened to the public. The shy king had built the castle in order to withdraw from public life – now vast numbers of people came to view his private refuge. (read more about this castle and take a virtual tour of it HERE)

Mt. Kilimanjaro, Tanzania. Luckily, you can get a small taste of the Kilimanjaro life during the Kilimanjaro Safari at the Animal Kingdom.

The Great Wall, China. The best-known and best-preserved section of the Great Wall was built in the 14th through 17th centuries A.D., during the Ming dynasty (1368-1644). Though the Great Wall never effectively prevented invaders from entering China, it came to function more as a psychological barrier between Chinese civilization and the world and remains a powerful symbol of the country’s enduring strength. The Great Pyramids of Giza, Egypt. The Great Pyramid of Giza (also known as the Pyramid of Khufu or the Pyramid of Cheops) is the oldest and largest of the three pyramids in the Giza pyramid complex bordering what is now El Giza, Egypt. It is the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and the only one to remain largely intact. (source: wikipedia)

Taj Mahal, India. Here are some fun coloring pages to get your kids excited to soar over the Taj Mahal.

Monument Valley, Utah.

Lau Islands, Fiji. They are in the South Pacific Ocean, east of the Koro Sea. Mainly composed of limestone, the 57 islands and islets cover a land area of 188 square miles (487 square km) and are scattered over 44,000 square miles (114,000 square km) of the South Pacific. Read more HERE.

Iguazu Falls, Argentina & Brazil. Spanning 2.7 kilometers, Iguazu Falls is made of 275 waterfalls. They are on the border of the Argentina province of Misiones and the Brazilian state of Parana. (source: CNN)

Eiffel Tower.

Epcot, Florida. Look for the hidden Mickey in the fireworks!

How to Ride Soarin’ Without a Genie+ Lightning Lane

Since this is a Genie+ ride, you would be giving up rides with a longer wait if you use this as your first Genie+ selection. The ride queue is inside so you are out of the heat. The ride wait times are less in the early hours and in the evening.

Where is the Best Place to Sit on Soarin’?

The best seats are in the center of the theater. Try to get row 2 and the middle section. If you ask nicely the CM will probably grant your wish. You may have to wait for a ride cycle though. We did have to wait for one ride cycle and don’t regret it.

Soarin Challenge

In the standby line, there is an online trivia game you can play. I didn’t go online to play as I like conserving my phone battery life, but it is still fun to try answering the questions. You can also try any of my fun ideas for things to do while waiting in line at Disney.
