I am a fan of Disney World Dance Parties. They give guests chances to interact with characters in such neat ways. The Move It! Shake It! MousekeDance It! Street Party is part of Mickey and Minnie’s Surprise Celebration for their 90th birthday. This party is amazing because of the rare, older characters, fun costumes, and music. Plus, you get to play with them!
Move It! Shake It! MousekeDance It! Street Party
The Move It! Shake It! MousekeDance It! Street Party takes place at Disney’s Magic Kingdom and can be caught several times during the day. You can check the My Disney Experience App or the Times Guide once you enter the park. The parade starts at the barn between the Fire Station and the Harmony Barber Shop. The parade travels down to the Castle Hub and that is where the party begins.
This parade is high-energy and so much fun! Each of the main characters (the characters on the top of the floats) leads the crowd in a dance move. The secondary characters move down off the floats and go into the street and dance with the guests.
Move It! Shake It! MousekeDance It! Street Party Characters
Let’s talk about the characters in the parade! So many rare characters, one even I had to look up because I didn’t know who she was. The characters appear on a series of five floats, with some of the characters coming off the floats to dance with guests.
Mickey and Minnie Mouse – Mickey and Minnie are stars of this parade and they are in the center float which is positioned at the center of the parade right in front of Cinderella Castle. The party DJs are also on this float and keeps the party going. Mickey and Minnie stay atop the float.
Goofy – Of course, Mickey’s best friend is in the parade. Goofy is atop a float and does not come down to dance with guests.
Max – On Goofy’s float is Max. Max is Goofy’s son and he is the star of The Goofy Movie and The Extremely Goofy Movie. Max can also be seen in Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas and Twice Upon a Christmas. There is not a regular meet and greet with Max so I was super excited to see him at the dance party!
Donald – Donald Duck is atop a float and is ready to party.
Panchito Pistoles – On Donald’s float you will find Panchito and Jose Carioca, the Three Caballeros. Panchito is a Mexican Charro rooster. In the Three Cabarellos, Panchito is gifted to Donald and pops out of a pinata. A ride on a magic serape takes the three amigos singing and dancing across Mexico. Panchito comes off the float and dances with guests.
Jose Carioca – Jose is a dapper Brazilian parrot. Jose comes down and dances with guests.
Pluto – Mickey has his best dog in the parade. Pluto comes off the float and dances with guests.
Chip & Dale – Chip and Dale are at this party too! Do you know how to tell them apart? Chip has a black nose that is shaped like a chocolate chip, while Dale has a red nose. They are available to dance with during the party.
Clarice – Clarice was the character that I did not who she was. This is because Clarice has only been featured in one cartoon short. It is a really cute short. She dates both Chip and Dale but Chip and Dale don’t know that until the date happens. She teases and flirts with both of them and it is cute. She wears the same dress in the parade that she wears in the short.
Clarabelle Cow – Clarabelle Cow rides atop the float. She most recently has been featured on Mickey’s Roadster Racers and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on Disney Junior. She debuted in Plane Crazy (one of my favorite Mickey Shorts). She is sassy and likes to gossip.
Horace Horsecollar – Horace first appeared as Mickey’s plow horse in the 1929 cartoon The Plowboy. He is a true friend of Mickey Mouse. You can see Horace Horsecollar in the new Mickey shorts and in Mickey’s Roadster Races on Disney Junior. He does come down from the float and dance with guests.
Move It! Shake It! MousekeDance It! Street Party Costumes
The costumes the characters and performers wear are super cute! The main theme is dots because you know that Minnie Mouse loves rockin’ the dots! The dresses have really pretty, colorful petticoats underneath. Want a similar petticoat? Check out Malco Modes. They have beautiful, comfortable, and colorful petticoats!
What I like best are the performer’s Mickey Ears and Minnie’s bow. Minnie’s bow is clear with confetti and sparkles. The performer’s ears have yellow bows in the middle and the ears are clear like Minnie’s bow with sparkles and confetti in them.
Move It! Shake It! MousekeDance It! Street Party Music
The music is catchy and great to dance to. When you are dancing the music matches the dance steps. The final song is my favorite. It is a mashup of the songs “Hey Mickey” and the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Song. Mickey and Minnie profess their love for each other in it and it is easy to pick up the lyrics.
The Move It! Shake! dance party gets better with each change. This one is one of my favorites! Make sure you schedule this dance party into your Magic Kingdom day!
