Lego Date Night – Creative Date Idea

Not sure what to do for a date night? Try a LEGO date night. A LEGO-themed date night is so fun. During the time together you can create together, compete against each other, watch a movie, make a movie (if you want), and even play video games. Only your imagination is the limit during a LEGO date.

For Christmas, I got my husband a very special gift that didn’t cost any money at all. My mother-in-law found my husband’s boyhood LEGO’s and I cleaned them up and regifted them to my husband for Christmas. He was so surprised and happy. I also bought him 2 new sets of Star Wars Legos. One of the “strings” attached to this gift is that he would play LEGO’s with me every once in a while.

LEGO Date Night Activities:

Build With Legos: My husband and I just thought up our own creations and began to build. It was so much fun! You can also build a set together. When my husband and I build sets together we take turns. I will build a few pages and then he will.

Search Pinterest for something cool to build together. On my  Pinterest account, I have a whole board dedicated to LEGO LOVE. People have designed and built some crazy things out of LEGO’s. Maybe as a team, you can come up with a cool thing to build.

Make and race LEGO cars.

Make a LEGO marble run for each other to complete.

Build a LEGO catapult and see which one of you can hurl an object further.

Challenge each other to a LEGO spoon race!

Have a speed challenge. Set a timer for 5 or 10 minutes and see who can build the highest tower or weight-carrying bridge.

Watch The LEGO Movie together!

The LEGO movie is about an ordinary LEGO figurine named Emmet who always follows the rules, and is mistakenly identified as the Special — an extraordinary being and the key to saving the world. He finds himself drafted into a fellowship of strangers who are on a mission to stop an evil villain’s plans to rule the world. Unfortunately for Emmet, he is hopelessly — and hilariously — unprepared for such a task, but he’ll give it his all nonetheless.

Make a LEGO stop-action movie together. Develop a background, characters, and script, and take a bunch of photos.

Play a LEGO-based video game like Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga or Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures.

I hope you have just as much fun on your LEGO date as I did on mine. Sometimes it is fun just to let loose and relive some of your childhood.
