Tips for a Magical Disney Honeymoon

Embarking on a magical Disney honeymoon is a dream come true, and I’m here to sprinkle some Pixie Dust on your journey with tips that will make your experience enchantingly unforgettable. From choosing the perfect resort to navigating the parks hand in hand, this post will guide you through creating those picture-perfect moments. Let’s dive into the world of Disney romance where fairy tales come to life, and love blossoms like never before! Here are my tips for a romantic Disney Honeymoon.

Tips for a Magical Disney Honeymoon

I had a wonderfully magical DIY Cinderella-themed wedding and I was so excited about spending my honeymoon at Walt Disney World. Both my husband and I are huge Disney fans so it made sense that we would honeymoon at Disney. Here are my tips to have a romantic, fun honeymoon!

1. Selecting the Best Disney Resort

One of the biggest mistakes we made on our honeymoon was not staying on Disney property. We made a reservation somewhere off property and it was awful. Bad service, dirty rooms, and quite a drive to get to the parks.

Walt Disney World has many resorts, some are romantic in theming like the Animal Kingdom Lodge, The Riviera, Wilderness Lodge, and Port Orleans- Riverside just to name a few. Talk with your partner and discuss what you would like. I would avoid value resorts if at all possible since the resort room walls tend to be a bit thinner and honeymoon couples desire more privacy.

2. Use a Travel Planner that Specializes in Disney

With all the wedding planning I didn’t need the extra stress of planning a Disney vacation. It is so important now with Genie+, needing dining reservations 60 days in advance, and booking special experiences.

If you aren’t too familiar with Disney then you might not be aware of how romantic Disney can be like nighttime carriage rides, fireworks cruises, and signature dining experiences. If you can think of it, Disney probably has a way to make it happen. Your travel planner will know how to make it happen.

3. Plan Romantic Disney Dining

When it comes to adding a touch of romance to your Walt Disney World honeymoon, indulging in the enchanting experience of signature dining is a must. These exquisite dining options offer not only delectable cuisine but also a captivating ambiance that sets the stage for a truly magical evening. From the elegance of Victoria & Albert’s to the charming atmosphere of Be Our Guest Restaurant, each venue has its unique charm. Imagine savoring gourmet dishes in a candlelit setting, surrounded by the enchanting ambiance of Disney magic. Choosing a romantic signature dining experience at Walt Disney World is not just about the food; it’s about creating moments that will linger in your hearts long after the last bite.

  • Yatchman’s Steak House

5. Plan a Long Enough Disney Honeymoon

Planning the perfect Disney honeymoon involves finding that delicate balance between magical exploration and blissful relaxation. To ensure an enchanting experience, it’s crucial to carve out ample time for both adventures in the parks and tranquil moments of rest.

A longer honeymoon allows for the luxury of resort days, where you can bask in the romance of your chosen resort, enjoying amenities and creating memories without the rush. These restful interludes rejuvenate you for the next park day. With the right blend of leisure and exploration, your extended Disney honeymoon promises to be a trip of magical moments and cherished downtime, creating a narrative that unfolds at its own, unhurried pace.

6. How to Document and Remember Your Disney Honeymoon

I hate that we didn’t take as many photos as we should have. I am not sure if Photopass was around back when I got married but if they were I don’t remember them around much. If I was getting married now I would purchase Memory Maker so I could have all my photos.  I would also immediately make a photo book online.
I love the souvenirs we bought! We got an etched glass photo frame at Epcot. A bride and groom Mickey and Minnie plush dolls, a puzzle, and a Disney throw. The photo frame and the plushes are front and center of my curio cabinet. I got bride ears which I saved and wore on our 10th anniversary a few years ago. My hubby wouldn’t get the groom hat so I get to tease him every year for not matching me, lol.
