Hocus Pocus Hot Cocoa

A smooth and tasty homemade hot cocoa made from chocolate chips, with just the right amount of mint. Add some food coloring, and top it off with whipped cream and Halloween Sprinkles for a Hocus Pocus inspired treat perfect for a party or family movie night.

This hot cocoa is creamy and filled with melted chocolate chips, with just a hint of mint syrup. I added some green food coloring to make it look like the contents of the Winifred Sisters Cauldron, and topped it off with whipped cream and Halloween sprinkles! It is so tasty!!

Ingredients to Make Hocus Pocus Mint Hot Cocoa

5 Cups Whole Milk. While you can use skim or lower-fat milk, the more fat in the milk, the creamier the cocoa will be.

1/3 Cup Sugar. Sugar substitutes can be used. I sometimes use Stevia.

1/2 Cup Mint Chocolate Chips

1/2 Cup White Chocolate Chips

1 tsp Vanilla. Pure is best, but imitation will work.

2 tsp Mint Syrup. You can also use mint extract.

2 Drops Green Gel Food Coloring

It’s as Easy as a Spell!

This is a perfect drink for Halloween parties because it’s so quick and easy to make.

MAKE. All you have to do is heat the milk and sugar on the stovetop over medium heat. Make sure you watch it closely—you want it to be hot, but not boiling. Then mix in both types of chocolate chips and stir until they are melted. Stir in the mint syrup and food coloring gel and it’s done.

SERVE. You can ladle the hot chocolate into individual mugs, top it with whipped cream, and Halloween sprinkles.

Want to keep it warm? Place cocoa into a crockpot and put it on the warm setting.
