The Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is a revolutionary 2-night experience where you are the star. You and your group will embark on a first-of-its-kind Star Wars adventure that’s your own. Here are my Star Wars: Galactic Star Cruiser Tips so that you can get the most out of your experience.
I really enjoyed my stay aboard the Star Cruiser and look forward to doing again soon. You can read my full review here. I fully believe the experience is worth the price and you will remember this experience forever.
Galactic Star Cruiser Tips
While I had an amazing time aboard the Star Wars: Galactic Star Cruiser there were quite a few things I wish I would have known ahead of time. I am sharing these with you so that you can be more prepared than I was.
Book a Pre-Star Cruiser Stay
The Galactic Star Cruiser is similar to a real cruise in that there is an arrival time and a departure time. Having a stay either at a Disney resort or an Orlando resort allows you flexibility with arrival times. Unlike a regular resort, you can’t just hang out in the lobby until your room is ready.
Get Acclimated and Social Quickly
The adventure starts as soon as you arrive! Go to your room, drop off your items, meet your room droid, and then start exploring. If you need help starting your Datapad in the Disney Play App, the Cast Members are available to assist you.
I made the mistake of being shy in the beginning. Watching is ok but you are encouraged to interact with not just the Cast Members but other guests as well. The more you interact with the Cast Members the more your relationship with their character trusts you or doesn’t, lol. Those relationships help determine your missions and how involved you are in the story. Be sure to also interact in the following areas:
- Bridge Training
- Light Saber Training
- Other Important Events listed in the Datapad
The more missions you complete the more involved you get in the story. It wasn’t until the second day that I really got into it and by then the experience is half over. I felt like my first day was almost a waste.
Dress Your Part
My advice is to dress YOUR part. Notice how I didn’t say dress the part. While you can Disneybound or cosplay common Star Wars characters, the people that stood out were guests who dressed in the Star Wars Style. Think of styles inspired by Padmé Amidala, Leia Organa, and Alderaanian officials. Don’t forget accessories and makeup!
I took a few pictures of some of the outfits that stood out to me for your inspiration. I am also sharing my 2 looks.
Have a Star Wars Backstory
While you can be from Earth and have your regular job that is definitely not as fun. The Cast Members aboard the Star Cruiser will ask you where you are from. I wasn’t thinking at first and said my hometown. I then got asked what galaxy that is on. Remember, you are in space with aliens. You are an alien too!
Thankfully, one member of my party had her daughter write back stories for us. I slightly altered mine. I was from Shili, which is the home planet of Ahsoka Tano though she was raised on Coruscant.
What if you don’t know about Star Wars as I do? Make up a story with your own places, things, and experiences. It’s YOUR backstory.
Book Your Stay With a Travel Planner
Booking with a travel planner will help you navigate the room choices, additional excursions, and activities, and even help you decide if this experience is right for you and your family. I am a travel planner and honestly don’t think every person is a right fit for this experience. I would be honored to help you with the Star Wars: Galactic Star Cruiser experience. Make Your Journey Yours and Yours Alone
While you may be traveling with your friends or family, you do not have to do everything together. You do not need to answer the same way on the Datapad. I went with a group of 4. It turned out one was a traitor and we even had a hilarious moment on the last night that everybody on the whole ship saw/heard.
Book a Post Star Cruiser Stay
Just like there is a strict arrival time, they are really strict about your departure. You basically eat breakfast and then have to leave. If your flight is late you really have nowhere to go with your luggage and family. Book a night at a Disney resort and even consider a stay with some Disney park days.
If you have experienced this immersive cruise, what Star Wars: Galactic Star Cruiser Tips would you add to mine?
