Get ready to light up your tree with Rudolph’s glowing nose!

What style of Christmas tree do you have? I have a traditional tree with lots of lights! I don’t think I could ever have a themed tree with just certain colors or ornaments. I have either picked it out because of a special occasion or because I am really into that “theme” that Christmas. One year it might be snowmen, one year Disney, one year snowflakes, you just never know what I will dabble in. I have a good collection of Rudolph-themed items and this light-up Rudolph Tealight Ornament makes a lovely addition to my tree.
Rudolph Tealight Ornament
The great thing about this ornament is that most of the items can be found at your local dollar tree!
Materials:
- Small battery operated tealight
- Brown and red paint
- Paintbrushes
- Ribbon
- Scissors
- Hot glue gun
- Wiggly eyes
- Sparkly gold pipe cleaners
Instructions:
1. Start by painting the flame of the battery-operated tealight with red paint. This will create the signature blinking nose effect for Rudolph. Allow the paint to dry completely before moving on to the next step.

2. Once the red paint has dried, use brown paint to cover the rest of the front and sides of the tealight. Leave the back of the tealight unpainted, as it will not be visible when the ornament is hanging on the tree. Apply multiple coats if needed and let the paint dry thoroughly.
3. Once the brown paint has dried, it’s time to bring Rudolph to life! Glue two wiggly eyes to the front of the painted tealight, positioning them above the flame. Make sure they are securely attached for a long-lasting ornament.
4. Cut a sparkly gold pipe cleaner in half. Take each half and shape it into a zigzag pattern to resemble reindeer antlers. Refer to the photo or use your imagination to create the desired antler shape. The gold sparkles will add a festive touch to your ornament.

5. Use a hot glue gun to attach the pipe cleaner antlers to the back of the tealight, positioning one antler behind each eye. Press firmly to ensure they are securely attached. Be cautious while using the hot glue gun to avoid burns.

6. Cut a small piece of holiday-themed ribbon and tie it into a small bow. This bow will be the reindeer’s collar, adding a cute detail to the ornament.

7. Glue the small ribbon bow to the bottom front of the tealight reindeer, just below the eyes. The bow should be centered and slightly overlapping the bottom edge of the tealight.
8. Cut another small loop of ribbon and attach it to the top of the back of the tealight using hot glue. This loop will serve as the hanger for your ornament, allowing you to hang it on your Christmas tree or around your home.

Crafting a Rudolph Tealight Ornament with a blinking nose is a delightful way to add holiday cheer to your Christmas decorations. With a few simple materials and easy-to-follow instructions, you can create an adorable ornament that will impress your friends and family. Hang it on your tree, give it as a gift, or use it to adorn your home during the festive season. Get ready to enjoy the warm glow of Rudolph’s blinking nose as you celebrate the holidays in style!
