Located on the border of Adventureland and Frontierland is a taste of the Southwest. Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe is where you can find tacos, nachos, and other flavors of the Southwest. It is one of my favorite places to grab a quick service meal at Disney’s Magic Kingdom.
Who is Pecos Bill?
Did you know that Pecos Bill is a character from an old Disney film?
Pecos Bill was first introduced in stories published in 1917 by Edward O’Reilly for The Century Magazine and collected and reprinted in 1923 in the book Saga of Pecos Bill (1923). O’Reilly said they were part of a tradition of tall tales told by cowboys during the westward expansion and settlement of the southwest including Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona.
Then Peco Bill was made into a comic strip between 1929 and 1938.
In 1948 Disney introduced Pecos Bill in Melody Time. It is a cute tall tale. but just a word of caution there are some parts that might not be politically correct like the Native American scene.
Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe Menu
While you will find a cheeseburger at Pecos Bill’s Cafe you won’t find chicken nuggets. Here are some of my favorites.
My party and I noticed that menu on the My Disney Experience was more extensive than the menu on the board at the restaurant. So check that menu, not just the menu board. The app also has a lot of allergy information.
Beef or Chicken Nachos. Tortilla chips topped with Queso and seasoned ground beef or chicken. I always use the toppings bar to transform this to a taco salad. It is very tasty, filling, and could be split between 2 people. $12.49
Southwest Salad with Pork Carnitas. Mixed Greens topped with Pork Carnitas, Roasted Corn, Bean Salsa, Tomatoes and Tortilla Crisps $11.99
Taco Trio. Three Soft-Shell Tacos with a selection of Seasoned Ground Beef, Seasoned Chicken, Pork Carnitas or Spicy Breaded Cauliflower. You can choose any combination of the three varieties. $10.99
Fajita Platter. served with Pork Carnitas and Seasoned Chicken with Yellow Rice, Beans, Fajita Vegetables and Flour Tortillas Fajita Platter. $14.99
The Toppings Bar
(currently not available due to Covid safety guidelines) Disney will give you toppings in cups when you pick up your order.
Once you get your order you can go over to the toppings bar and dress your salads, tacos, nachos, etc. You will find the following items as toppings:
- Salsa
- Pica de Galo
- Tomato Slices
- Shredded Lettuce
- Shredded Cheese
- Southwest Corn
- Sour Cream
- Lime Wedges
- Ketchup
- Mustard
- Pickles
Pecos Bill Cafe Tips
- Utilize Mobile Ordering. Pecos Bill’s participates in mobile ordering. Order your meals using the My Disney Experience App and then let them know once you are there and they will alert you to come to the counter pick up your order.
- Send 1 Person to the Toppings Bar. The toppings bar area gets crazy busy and the fewer people there the better. There are plates that can hold the toppings and then you can just share the toppings family style. Just please take just what you need.
- Additional Seating. During busy times the inside can get quite busy. There is additional seating both outside in the shade and up a hallway inside.

I was talking with a Disney friend the other day about how there is so much to do and see at WDW that it seems impossible to do it all and about how there are so many places to dine that it could take years to try them all. Pecos Bill's is one of the places that I have not yet tried. Thanks for sharing about it.
