Ingredients Needed to the Frogs

  • 12 oz. bag of green candy melts
  • 24 large candy eyes
  • 24 pretzel twists
  • 12 Oreo cookies
  • 1 package of edible pink grass

How to Make Oreo Frogs

Step 1 – Melt the Candy Melts

Start by melting the green candy melts according to the instructions on the package. This is typically done by microwaving the candy melts in short intervals, stirring in between until smooth and completely melted. Be sure to follow the specific instructions on your candy melts package for the best results.

Step 2 – Dip the Pretzels

Once the candy melts are melted and smooth, dip each pretzel twist into the green candy melts, making sure to coat it entirely. Shake off any excess coating and place the pretzels onto a parchment paper-lined baking sheet, facing each other to resemble the frog’s legs. This will be the frog’s hind legs.

Step 3- Dip the Oreos

Next, carefully dip each Oreo cookie into the green candy melts, ensuring it is fully coated.

Gently shake off any excess coating before placing the coated Oreo on top of the two pretzel legs, creating the frog’s body. The candy melts will act as an adhesive to hold the Oreo and pretzels together.

Step 4 – Add the Frog’s Eyes

While the candy melts are still wet, place two large candy eyes on top of each Oreo, positioning them upright to create a cute frog face. Press them lightly into the candy melts so they adhere securely.

Step 5 – Add the Frog’s Tongue

Take a small piece of pink edible grass and gently insert it into the middle of the Oreo, creating the frog’s tongue. This will add a pop of color and a playful touch to your Oreo Frogs.

Step 6 Allow the Frogs to Dry

Set the Oreo Frogs aside on the parchment paper and allow them to dry completely. This usually takes about 15-20 minutes, but it may vary depending on the temperature and humidity of your surroundings.

Step 7 – Serve the Frogs and Enjoy

Once the candy melts have hardened and the Oreo Frogs are dry, they are ready to be served! Arrange them on a platter or individually wrap them for a fun party favor. These delightful treats are perfect for kids’ birthday parties, themed events, or any occasion that calls for a touch of whimsy.

Oreo Frogs Storage Tips

Oreo Frogs can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. However, it’s important to note that the pretzels may lose some of their crunchiness over time. If you prefer to enjoy them at their freshest, you can store the Oreo Frogs in the refrigerator for up to three days.
