Everything is awesome! LEGOLAND is a great place for kids. Today I am going to share with you some LEGOLAND Florida Tips that will help you have a great visit including plus-size friendliness, money-saving tips, touring tips, where to stay and more!

LEGOLAND Florida Tips
Arrive Early. It is possible to see the entire park in one day as long as you get to the park at opening. Aim to be at the park at least 20 minutes early to park and go through bag check. Unlike Disney World, LEGOLAND does not have trams for the parking lot so the earlier you are the better parking spot you get. There is an opening ceremony and one lucky kid is chosen to help open the park.
Be sure to check the LEGOLAND website to check for park hours. Sometimes during the non-peak season, they are closed in the middle of the week.
Plan Meals. LEGOLAND does not allow you to bring a packed lunch. You are allowed bottled water, small snacks, medically needed food, and baby needs. There are budget-friendly options inside of the park such as the Pizza Buffet for lunch. I suggest eating breakfast and lunch outside of the park. For dinner outside of the parks, I suggest Andy’s Drive-In and Igloo, which is a local gem with great prices and homemade, delicious food and ice cream! Andy’s only accepts cash.

Plus-Size at LEGOLAND. LEGOLAND prides itself on being a theme park built for kids. This means that LEGOLAND is not very plus-size friendly. That doesn’t mean that there is not a lot to enjoy if you are a plus-sized mom looking to take your kids to LEGOLAND. In the section below where I list must-do attractions, I also share my experience with rides.
Plan a 2nd Day at the LEGOLAND Water Park. The water park is a fun experience for kids. If you buy a combo park/water park ticket you save a lot of money too!
Souvenirs. If you are looking for LEGOLAND Florida merchandise then shopping in the gift shops is great. I would buy LEGO sets elsewhere since you can hunt for the cheapest price. Looking for a really cheap souvenir? LEGOLAND has pressed penny machines.

How to Get Cheap LEGOLAND Florida Tickets
First Responders Special. If you are a first responder, wait until May to go. First responders get free admission in May. This is a big blessing to my family since my husband is an EMT.
Check the LEGO Club Magazine for coupons. They often have a coupon for a free child ticket when you purchase an adult ticket. This is a great way to get your kid tickets for free. If you don’t already get the LEGO Club Magazine, it is free! Click here to subscribe.
Buy Tickets Online. Tickets are most expensive at the gate and no discounts are offered. You can save up to $14 off if you buy from the LEGOLAND website at least 2 days early. You can also save up to $40 on a 2-Day Ticket with Undercover Tourist.
Where to Stay at LEGOLAND?
LEGOLAND has 2 resorts that are theirs. One is the LEGOLAND Hotel and the other is the LEGOLAND Beach Retreat. The hotel is right next to the entrance to the park and is about a 3 minute or less walk. The Beach Retreat is across the street and they have a bus that takes you to the entrance of the park. The Beach Retreat is more budget-friendly if you are looking for an onsite experience. The Beach Retreat rooms are priced comparatively to Disney Value Resorts. Similar to Disney’s Extra Magic Hours, LEGOLAND has bonus brick time just for resort guests.

If you are looking to stay off site near LEGOLAND there are a couple great options. The Holiday Inn and the Hampton Inn in Winterhaven both have great reviews via Trip Advisor. Get the best deal by booking with Hotels.com. I use them to book any hotel that is not connected to a theme park since you earn free nights!
LEGOLAND Florida Must-Do Attractions
LEGO Ninjago World. This attraction is plus-size friendly. This attraction has an air-conditioned, interactive queue area. The 3d effects in this attraction are amazing! Blast animated fireballs, lightning and more at a sinister gallery of villains before teaming up to defeat a powerful foe. Children under 6 years of age or 48” must ride with a responsible person 48” or taller. A responsible person age 14 years older required.

Ford Driving School. This ride is specifically for kids. They get “driving lessons” and then have a chance to drive in a little LEGO town. There is a big kid version and a junior version. For a price, you can get a copy of the license. My group just took a picture the same time as the employee. We didn’t get the license info but that is what photoshop is for, lol.

Flying School. This ride has been reported as fluffy friendly. It didn’t look like that to me. My friend’s husband did it and said it was a tight fit that he wouldn’t do again. He is more tall than husky.
Mia’s Riding Adventure. I am scared of heights so I did not try this. I did see quite a few plus-size people ride this though. This ride might look all cute and innocent, but it packs a punch according to my friend, Millie. It swings and spins at the same time. Minimum rider height is 48 inches.

Duplo Valley. Oddly, a lot of these rides are plus-size friendly. These rides are perfect for little ones not quite big enough to go on the other more adventurous rides. There is also a nice air conditioned play place with a great baby care center.
Coastersaurus. This wooden coaster curves and dips in and around a prehistoric jungle of animated and life-sized LEGO® brick dinosaurs. I did not go on this ride but according to a lot of articles, the ride is not fluffy or tall people friendly.

Explore MiniLand. The LEGO masters built an entire land of LEGOS. There are replicas of cities, Star Wars, historical landmarks, and more! The level of detail and the intricate designs are simply amazing. There is even a rocket that launches with real smoke!

Things to Bring to LEGOLAND Florida
Pack a park bag for your day at LEGOLAND. You will want to include the following items:
- Sunblock/Sunscreen
- LEGO Mini-figures to trade. All of the Model Citizens (LEGOLAND employees) trade mini-figures with kids. Be sure that your figure has a torso, legs, head and some head accessory (hair, hat, head-gear).
- Ponchos/Umbrellas. Get more use from the umbrella by also using it as a sunshade.
- Water Misting Fan
- Comfortable shoes for walking.
