Frozen 2 Popcorn Mix

This sweet Frozen 2 Popcorn mix is filled with yummy candied popcorn, frosted Cheerios, and Frozen 2 Graham Crackers. The pretty blue color reminds me of Elsa’s beautiful horse Nokk.

Frozen Popcorn mix

Frozen 2 is a beautiful addition to the Frozen story. We learn more about Anna and Elsa’s parents and how Elsa got her powers. The music is wonderful, though not as catchy as the original. One of my favorite parts is the deepening of Anna and Kristoff’s love story.

If you are watching Frozen 2 for the first time or the 1000th time, this Frozen Popcorn mix will be great for a family movie night or a Frozen-themed party!

How to Make Frozen Popcorn Party Mix

Ingredients needed to make the candied popcorn. I got the recipe for coloring the popcorn from The Spruce Eats. It is not hard, but you will need a candy thermometer. This is the one I have.

  • 12 cups popcorn. I air-pop my popcorn. If you use microwave popcorn one bag is usually around 12 cups.
  • 1/8 tsp blue food coloring gel
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter (unsalted)
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Other Ingredients for the Frozen 2 Party Mix

  • 2 Cups Frosted Cheerios
  • Frozen 2 Graham Snacks – I found these at Walmart and I know Target has them too.
  • Blue Sprinkles (optional)
  • Pearl Sprinkles (optional)

How to Make the Popcorn Blue

  1. On Medium Heat pour the cup of sugar and the butter in a pot. Once the butter melts it kind of resembles snow.
  2. Add the water and the vanilla. Bring to a boil.
  3. Lower heat to low and slowly bring to 238 degrees.
  4. Once you reach 238 degrees, add the blue food gel quickly.
  5. Pour over Popcorn. I had my popcorn in a large bowl. I wrapped the bowl with aluminum foil and shook until the popcorn had the amount of coloring a liked. You can alternatively stir the coloring in.
  6. Spread candied popcorn on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake Popcorn in a 300-degree oven.
  8. Allow Popcorn to fully cool.
