This classic animated tale was released in 1988 and will delight the entire family. This is a must-see movie if you love Oliver Twist! It’s filled with catchy tunes funny characters, and may even bring a tear to your eye.

That Darn Cat
The original live-action movie came out in 1965 and features an FBI agent who happens to be allergic to cats! Will D.C. help solve a robbery and kidnapping? Find out, and be prepared to love every second along the way!
In 1997 another adventure of That Darn Cat came out. It focuses on a kidnapping, and D.C. provides a valuable clue to the mystery.

Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey
This live-action tale came out in 1993 when an adorable bulldog, cat, and golden retriever are left alone while their family leaves for vacation. What do they do? They embark on a long journey with lots of adventure! This is a fantastic movie that the whole family will love. Sassy, the cat, is my favorite character since her behaviors are very cat and her attitude matches her name.

Homeward Bound II: Lost in San Francisco
Sassy, Shadow, and Chance are back for another adventure in this 1996 sequel! The pets accidentally think that the San Francisco airport is a dog pound. This causes them to worry and break out of their cages. Attempting to find their family once again, they go on another journey. This movie is sweet and will give you some laughs along the way.

The Cat from Outer Space
Released in 1978, this live-action movie is far out! Jack is a cat that is extraterrestrial and lands on Earth in his spaceship. Any cat lover should really watch this movie. It’s hilarious and something everyone should watch at least once.

Aristocats
Another animated classic that came out in 1970 and has been providing viewers entertainment for years! The story is about an opera singer that has retired named Madame Adelaide Bonfamille and lives in a mansion with her cat Duchess along with her three kittens. Madame Adelaide has a fortune and meets with her lawyer to finalize her will. What will happen to her beloved pets when she passes? Don’t miss this entertaining adventure!

Soul
The movie Soul came out in 2020 and is a movie that makes you really think! Mr. Mittens is an adorable therapy cat who ends up leaving his body when Joe Gardner accidentally takes over his body. Watch to find out if Mr. Mittens ever gets his body back while in this unpredictable tale.

Bolt
A fun and adorable Disney film that was released in 2008, it’s a computer-animated story about a dog named, Bolt. Mittens is a sassy cat with very dry humor that Bolt believes is a special agent of Dr. Calico. While Bolt is on a mission to bring his owner, Penny, back home he doesn’t realize it’s all part of a TV series. This movie is sure to make you laugh!

Alice In Wonderland
1951 was the year that this spectacular animated movie came out! Alice is the star of the movie, of course, but it also features her darling kitten named Dinah. Plus, the Cheshire Cat is an important character too. Cheshire loves to mess with Alice while smiling almost the entire time. Oh, and he disappears anytime he wants to. Be sure to grab your cat and watch this classic movie.

Hocus Pocus
Traditionally watched during the Halloween season, this 1993 movie is fun, memorable and one of the main characters is a cat! The Sanderson Sisters put a spell on Thackery Binx, who used to be a regular boy. This tale will keep you entertained from the minute it starts all the way to the end. This movie is great for kids of all ages, teens, and adults.

Lady & The Tramp
This movie has been watched in households everywhere since 1955! It’s practically vintage, but the storyline and catchy tunes are still sure to be a family favorite. There are two naughty little Siamese Cats named Si and Am, who love causing trouble. They will have you singing “We are Siamese if you please” for days after watching it!

Lion King
The original movie was released in 1994 and a live-action version came out in 2019. No matter which version you watch, they are both about Simba finding himself and learning how to be brave. This heartwarming movie may make you cry a little, and it will certainly make you laugh and feel good. The animated version is way better, the live-action is a mere copycat and doesn’t add anything to the story.

Bonus Short – Kitbull
Pixar released an animated short in 2019 that pulls at your heartstrings. The story focuses on a pit bull and a homeless kitten and how they developed an unlikely friendship. Even though I have watched this short many times, it brings tears to my eyes and chokes me up. Pixar has a knack for doing that.

While most of these movies have cats that play a pretty major role in the movie, some of my other favorite Disney cats are Lucifer from Cinderella, Mochi from Big Hero 6, and Minnie’s cat Figaro who also was Pinocchio’s cat.
All of these movies have one thing in common…cats! So, you aren’t going to want to miss these Disney movies for cat lovers next time you are in the mood to veg out. There is a lot of variety to choose from and you will want to watch them time and time again.
