Chicken Guy Review | Disney Springs

Disney Springs is filled with so many wonderful dining options, a lot of them very pricey. I love Blaze Pizza because of how inexpensive they are so I was excited to try Chicken Guy. Chicken Guy adds another budget-friendly dining option to Disney Springs that is tasty as well!

Mickey Mouse welcomes celebrity chef Guy Fieri and others at the official dedication of Chicken Guy!, a new fast-casual restaurant now open at Disney Springs at the Walt Disney World Resort. Other participants include (from left) Lisa Onopa, director, operating participant account management; Guy Fieri; Mickey Mouse; Robert Earl, restauranteur; and Matt Simon, vice president, Disney Springs. Chicken Guy! Review

Guy Fieri is not new to Disney Springs, the reimagined Planet Hollywood is under his name. I was so excited to hear that a Guy Fieri quick service was coming to Disney Springs. Chicken Guy is located right next to Planet Hollywood.

There is some outdoor seating with umbrellas and a decent amount of indoor seating.

The menu is simple and offers just a few options. The menu shines when it comes to dipping sauces.

I am a fan of chicken strips and since it is the main menu item I tried those. The chicken strips themselves are so good. Mine were fresh and the breading is so good! I did have a hard time picking out my sauces. There are 17 to choose from including Guy’s Famous Donkey Sauce. I wasn’t too interested in that so I tried the Teriyaki sauce, the Peri Peri Sauce, and the Garlic Parmesan sauce. The menu has the ingredients for each sauce so you have an idea of what you are getting.

The Peri Peri Sauce was listed as a “hot” sauce, I didn’t think it was that bad and I have a low heat tolerance. It is like a spicy pasta sauce. I thought the Teriyaki sauce had more bite to it. The Garlic Parmesan sauce was my favorite.

Chicken Guy Sauce Tip: Each order of Chicken Guy Chicken Strips comes with 2 sauces. If you are just getting the three-piece order, 2 is enough. For the five-piece order, you will have to order another sauce. Additional sauces cost just 50 cents.

Instead of ordering fries, my husband and I decided to share an order of Loaded Mac and Cheese. I was disappointed in this item and would not order it again. The mac and cheese was room temperature and dry like it has been sitting on a warming table for a while. It was supposed to come smothered with SMC (super melty cheese) and it was not very cheesy at all. I was expecting more from this side. I saw someone’s fries that were dressed the same and they looked so much better. Next time I will get the fries.

I did mention something at the counter and they added more cheese for me and that made it a tad better.

My husband ordered the Southwestern Sandwich which has Pepper Jack, Special Sauce, Avocado Crema, Cumin-Lime Mojo, Charred Corn, Roasted Peppers, Black Beans, Lettuce, Tomatoes, and Crispy Tortilla Strips. He said it was good and he would order it again. He did also comment that it needed more sauce so maybe ask for extra.

Chicken Guy Tip: Save room for dessert. We didn’t have time since we were catching a movie but the desserts sound amazing! One is called Triple Double Mint and it is Hand-spun Mint Chocolate Soft Serve, Crushed Oreo® Cookies, Chocolate Mints, Chocolate Syrup, and Fresh Whipped Cream. The other is called Cinnamon Apple and it is Hand-spun Vanilla Soft Serve, Cinnamon Toast Crunch® and Apple Jacks® Cereal and Fresh Whipped Cream.

Thank You for Spreading the Pixie Dust!
