Captain Cook’s Quick Service Review

Disney World’s Polynesian Resort is a beautiful oasis that has a lot of dining experiences. One of the signature dishes of the Poly is Tonga Toast which can be ordered at the Kona Cafe. Did you know that you can order that same Tonga Toast at their quick service, Captain Cook’s?

Even if you are not staying at the Polynesian resort, you can hop on the monorail from the Magic Kingdom and visit the Polynesian resort and order a meal from Captain Cooks. It’s a great choice if you are wanting a midday break!

Captain Cook’s

Captain Cook’s is located in the main building of Disney’s Polynesian Resort. There are some inside and outside seating areas. They are open 24 hours but only serve the kitchen-made dishes from 6:30 am to 11:00 pm. I have been here several times and I have to mention that the Cast Members here are amazing and so polite.

Captain Cooks has a toaster and microwave oven available as well.

Mobile ordering is available at Captain Cooks, which is super helpful during busy meal times.

Captain Cook’s Breakfast

Let’s talk about the star of the show, the Tonga Toast. The Tonga Toast at the Kona Cafe is served with a strawberry compote and you are given your choice of ham, spiced ham, bacon, or sausage to go along with it. That is priced at $16.00 plus you would have to pay tip since it is a sit-down restaurant.

At Cook’s, you don’t get the strawberry compote and your side selections are either bacon or sausage. It is still the same Tonga Toast though. It may have a tiny bit less banana filling, but not much. This meal is just $8.99 and no tip.

I also love the Morning Flatbread. The morning flatbread has a gravy sauce, cheese, eggs, sausage, bacon, and green onions. It is so flavorful and a great way to start out the day. It is also very filling, could be split between two people if you eat a light breakfast.

The Bounty Breakfast platter has everything you love about breakfast on one plate. It includes scrambled eggs, french toast, potatoes, sausage, bacon, and a biscuit.

If you are looking for something quick and portable, the breakfast burrito may be the best choice. The burrito has eggs, potatoes, bacon, and cheese. It comes with a side of salsa and sour cream.

A new plant-based option is the Power Breakfast Bowl. It contains Red Skin Potatoes, Vegan Sausage, Sautéed Red Pepper, and Plant-based Eggs. The eggs are made from Mung Beans. I am not vegan but I thought the dish was pretty tasty.

Mickey Waffles are also offered here. You can view the whole menu HERE

Captain Cooks Lunch and Dinner Review

My favorite lunch option are the Pulled Pork nachos. They are so good! They are house-made chips topped with Cheese, Spicy Mayonnaise, Pico de Gallo, and Pineapple Salsa. The portion is big enough to share if you are getting it to go along with something or the perfect size for a meal.

Captain Cooks offer tasty wings as well.

The Pan Asian Noodle dish is amazing! You can add chicken for more protein. There is just enough spice to make the dish so flavorful without the flavor being overpowering. Favorite Grammy chose this meal and loved it!

The Aloha Pork sandwich is yummy! It is pulled pork with Cheddar, Asian Slaw, Cucumbers, and Tomatoes on a Brioche Bun served with French Fries.

Another great lunch/dinner at Captain Cook’s at the Polynesian resort is Asian-style Noodle Salad. The salad has Rice Noodle, Mandarin Oranges, Mixed Vegetables, and Candied Cashews served with Honey-Miso Dressing. You can add chicken, shrimp, or tofu an additional cost.
