Bridget Jones’s Baby | 4 Ways to Live Like Bridget Jones

Disclaimer: I received complimentary admission to Bridget Jones’s Baby in exchange for sharing my review. All opinions are my own.

I was so excited when the previews started appearing for Bridget Jones’s Baby. We fell in love with the quirky, real woman that Bridget is in the first movie Bridget Jones’ Diary. Then we followed Bridget in her adventures in Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason. Bridget Jones is real, someone we can all relate to. She doesn’t have the perfect body, makes mistakes, and can’t seem to make some relationships work. In Bridget Jones’s Baby, she returns and it seems like everything is fitting into place until she gets that positive pregnancy test.

Life with Bridget Jones is not perfect just like our life is never perfect. I want to live like Bridget though. In Bridget Jones’s Baby, she lives like we all need to!

4 Ways to Live Like Bridget Jones

Have fun anyways. Bridget has fun, even if she is all alone. Who says you need someone with you to enjoy a glass of wine? Have a solo dance party in your underwear! Take care of you and your needs. Most importantly, stand up for yourself when you feel put down by those who appear to have “it” all together.

Don’t Settle. Just because you are in your 30’s or 40’s, that doesn’t mean that you have to settle for anything less than your fairytale romance. In Bridget Jones’s Baby, Bridget has the chance to get almost everything that seems perfect, but decides she wants the real thing even if she is alone.

Don’t change for others. Bridget and Mark Darcy, they are polar opposites. When Bridget was younger, she tried becoming the woman that she thought Mark Darcy wanted. Now that Bridget is older she knows she is perfect for someone just the way she is.

Find your strength. During Bridget Jones’s Baby, Bridget goes through a period where is might be a single mom. She find the strength and powers through it without the help of a man. I think we all have the strength within us. You never know what you can accomplish until you try!

My review:

I give Bridget Jones’s Baby 4/5 stars. It is a really good movie for a sequel. The movie has lots of funny moments that had the theater overcome with laughter, but also had many sweet tender moments.

I did miss Hugh Grant in the movie, I think he would have made an interesting subplot. They did incorporate Hugh Grant though in a hilarious way! Instead of that hottie, we got Patrick Dempsey. You can’t go wrong with McDreamy.

Once Bridget Jones’s Baby comes out on Blu-Ray I see a girl’s night marathon with all three Bridget Jones’ movies! You need to see this movie for yourself!

This movie is rated R. If you have seen the previous movies, it is more of the same R-rated content:  language, sex references, and some nudity.  In my opinion, it is really just the language that is bad. The intimate scenes were tastefully done. The “nude” scene is very brief and doesn’t involve the main characters.

Check out the trailer for yourself.

Bridget Jones’s Baby is now available on Blu-Ray and DVD from Amazon, , and other fine retailers.
