Since I knew that I was going to not be able to meet any princesses during my runDisney Princess 10K, I decided to make reservations at Akershus for their Princess Storybook Dining Breakfast. It turned out to be a perfect way to celebrate my race accomplishment! After reading my Akershus review, you are going to want to make sure you add this meal to your Disney World dining plans.

From the moment you walk into the restaurant, you feel like you just stepped into a fairytale!

Akershus Review
Akershus is a more budget-friendly Princess dining option that Disney World offers. Akershus is located at Epcot in the Norway Pavillion. The breakfast is an all-you-care to eat breakfast served family style. There is also a small buffet area with cold cuts, cheeses, pastries, fruit, and yogurt.
Akershus Breakfast Review
The options at the buffet area are very good. My favorites are the cheeses, the croissants, and the chocolate chip muffins. I found some of the options to be very plain, with nothing spectacular about them.

At your table, they bring you a platter with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage links, and hashbrown casserole. The hashbrown casserole is my husband’s favorite part of the meal. You can also get Mickey waffles if you request them. I did not know that until I saw another table get them. Who can say no to Mickey Waffles? Much to my disappointment, the syrup was not real maple syrup. Looking for Mickey Waffles at home? Check out this Mickey Waffle Maker!

My eggs are on a separate plate because I have discovered that Disney World likes to undercook their scrambled eggs a little bit and I need mine well done. Disney World Dining is very accommodating to any changes or substitutions you may need.

Akershus Characters You May Meet

Before you are seated you are greeted by Belle and photographed by Disney Photopass Photographers. I have no idea why my smile is so awkward in this photo.

The princesses you may meet are Aurora, Snow White, Ariel, Cinderella, or Mulan. This is my second time eating at Akershus and Snow White was present and the time previously Mulan was there. You never know which princesses you will meet.
For the little princesses, there is a Princess walk. The Disney princesses join hands with little ones and walk around the restaurant. As a spectator, I loved seeing all the excitement on the little ones’ faces as they passed by. I waved back and applauded them as they marched on by.
